KEY TAKEAWAYS
Adapting Designs to Client Needs
Creating this luxury hotel website taught me a great deal about adapting my designs to meet client needs. While working with WordPress wasn’t the most exciting, it provided an important opportunity to practice turning conceptual designs into a functional website.
Logo Design and Brand Alignment
Designing the main logo of West Point Hotel was an exciting and rewarding part of the project. I worked to refine it into something geometric and bold—an identity that resonated with the client (my professor) as well. The back-and-forth with the client was invaluable, as it deepened my understanding of how to refine design concepts based on their feedback and stay true to the brand’s essence.
Figma to WordPress: Navigating Design Constraints
Translating the designs from Figma to WordPress presented challenges, particularly when certain design elements didn’t translate as expected. This pushed me to think creatively within technical constraints (or find some "work-arounds"), while being adaptable and finding solutions within the scope of the project.
FINAL DESIGNS
West Point Hotel’s logo embodies elegance, with geometric cuts resembling diamonds with an angelic aura. Initially inspired by a ‘W’ shape from “West Point”, it captures sophistication and celestial charm, making it a distinctive symbol for the luxury hotel.
